Call for Submissions: Art for Strong Enterprises Headquarters
LINK TO THE PUBLIC WEBINAR ABOUT THE CALL – August 7th 10am.
Introduction
Strong Enterprises, parent company to Strong Bros. General Contracting, is excited to announce a unique opportunity for artists in the Quinte region to contribute to the beautification and cultural enrichment of our new 15,000 square foot headquarters. As part of our commitment to creative placemaking, we seek to commission three original art pieces that reflect our values and the vibrant community we serve. This initiative embodies our mission to foster innovation, collaboration, and community engagement through art.
The Opportunity
We are commissioning three distinct art pieces for our new headquarters:
- A large mural (approximately 14 feet wide by 6 feet tall) for the second-floor main lobby.
- A sculpture for the outdoor entrance plaza.
- A series of three paintings (each approximately 2 feet wide by 3 feet tall) for our executive conference room.
Each piece should embody the themes of “Innovation,” “Community,” and “Heritage,” reflecting our company’s journey, values, and vision. Artists should consider the integration of these themes into their work, creating a cohesive narrative that resonates with both our team and visitors.
We are a construction company specializing in commercial, industrial and institutional projects. We have worked with prestigious clients such as Defense Construction Canada, the Royal Military College, government agencies and municipalities across the province of Ontario. Our company was founded in 1989 in the Quinte region and continues to grow to support the communities, clients and team members we collaborate with. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of the next phase of our business, focused on innovation and growth and honoring our rich heritage. Our new building is a 15,000 sq ft flagship design project that serves as a home for our team members.
The headquarters will host visitors from all walks of life. We hope to make it warm, inviting and exciting.
The building is made of glass and black steel and our colours are relatively neutral so we hope that the art will bring it to life and awaken the space with vibrancy. You can see an image of the building here.
