Key Responsibilities
Estimate Preparation:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and tender documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects.
- Break down labor, material, and equipment costs to produce detailed project budgets.
- Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination:
- Obtain competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors through RFQs.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts to ensure project cost-efficiency.
Project Assessment:
- Conduct site visits and collaborate with project managers to understand project scopes and complexities.
- Identify potential risks and propose cost-effective solutions.
Cost Analysis and Reporting:
- Develop and maintain a cost database for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Present detailed cost reports to stakeholders and contribute to project decision-making processes.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Project Management, Operations, and Procurement teams to ensure alignment between estimates and execution.
- Assist in the preparation of bids, proposals, and RFP responses.

Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry (commercial, industrial, or institutional sectors preferred).
Education: Post-secondary degree/diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, or Sage Estimating).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and best practices.
Analytical Skills:
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and tender documents.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in cost analysis.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet tight deadlines.
