Role Details

Job Title: Senior Finance & Accounting Administrator
Location: Belleville, Ontario, Canada (In office / in person)
Company: Strong Bros. General Contracting Ltd.
Shift/Hours: Monday – Friday, 7am to 4pm. Full-time (additional hours as required based on business needs).
Compensation Range: $75,000 – $95,000 annual equivalent, paid hourly
Start Date: As soon as possible, with adequate handover and transition support

About This Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Finance & Accounting Administrator to manage core accounting, compliance, and financial administration functions across multiple related business entities. This role operates in a deadline-driven environment where accuracy, regulatory compliance, and strong organizational skills are essential.

The successful candidate will bring hands-on experience with Canadian accounting and statutory requirements and will be comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with internal teams and external accounting professionals.

Responsibilities:

Accounting & Financial Operations:

  • Perform bank and account reconciliations for multiple entities
  • Manage accounts receivable activities and work closely with accounts payable functions
  • Prepare, review, and track invoices in coordination with internal stakeholders
  • Reconcile recurring and automated payments and ensure accurate recording
  • Maintain complete, well-organized financial records in accordance with internal controls

Compliance & Statutory Reporting:

  • Prepare and submit Canadian statutory remittances and filings, including payroll- and tax-related obligations
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and provincial regulations across multiple jurisdictions
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Assist with regulatory, audit, and compliance reporting as required
  • Participate in financial review and verification processes to support internal controls

Project & Multi-Entity Support:

  • Provide financial administration support related to project billing and change management
  • Monitor outstanding and pending transactions across entities
  • Support work-in-progress (WIP) and contract-related financial reporting
  • Coordinate financial information across multiple related companies

Collaboration & External Coordination:

  • Liaise with external accounting professionals and advisors
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure consistent and reliable financial information

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with Canadian accounting, payroll, and tax compliance requirements
  • Proven experience supporting multi-entity accounting environments
  • Advanced, hands-on proficiency in QuickBooks (experience required)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including:
  • Excel (data entry, reconciliation, and reporting)
  • Outlook (email and calendar management)
  • Word (formal documentation and correspondence)
  • Experience in the construction or project-based industry is an asset.
